SAQCC Gas (South African Qualification and Certification Committee)

SAQCC Gas is the non-profit umbrella organisation that represents the following four associations:

LPGSASA – Liquefied Petroleum Gas Safety Association

SACGA – Southern Africa Compressed Gases Association

SARACCA – South African Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Contractors Association

SAGA – Southern African Gas Association

Registration is compulsory due to the OHS Act mandated by the Department of Labour, which makes SAQCC Gas responsible for the competent working on gas systems in terms of PER (Pressure Equipment Regulations Act) by the different associations.

SAQCC Gas needs to ensure that anyone working on gas systems are well versed on what they must do.

Applications for registrations are sent to SAQCC Gas by each association according to registration criteria and proof of competency is supplied by individual portfolios to show qualifications, training and experience in the relevant gas industry. The approved applicants are then registered with SAQCC Gas and placed on the national database for authorised practitioners.

This online database will help you find a competent gas practitioner and check their credentials using the authorised practitioner card with their photograph.
